Toy Adapting: Making Play Accessible For All is a hands-on summer course designed to empower educators, Speech-Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, caregivers, and more with practical skills in adaptive play.
Learn the importance of play in child development while discovering how to modify environments and toys to support learners of all abilities. Throughout the course, you'll actively practice adapting toys and gain real-world experience that directly impacts your community.
Each participant takes home a bubble machine and switch—tools you'll use immediately in your own settings.
Additional toys adapted during the course are donated to Winter Wonderland, an inclusive event where children and individuals select toys and engage in activities customized to their unique needs. Perfect for special educators, therapists, parents, and support professionals seeking to create more inclusive play experiences.
*Course is pending Texas Speech and Hearing CEU's. Please note that these courses are available for PD hours for school districts.
